Privacy that reads like a promise.
Shelfie is designed to keep your coffee journal private. There is no Shelfie account, no advertising, and no third-party analytics.
Information you add
Coffee details, brew logs, tasting notes, ratings, and package photos are stored on your device and, when iCloud is available, in your private iCloud container. The developer cannot access this information.
Camera and photo library
Shelfie uses the camera only when you choose to scan a coffee package. Text recognition and package analysis happen on your device. When you choose a photo from your library, Shelfie receives only the photo you select.
Product page import
When you ask Shelfie to import a public product URL, the app connects directly to that website to retrieve the page and its product image. The website may receive standard technical information such as your IP address and user agent under its own privacy policy. Shelfie does not send the URL or imported content to the developer.
iCloud
Private sync is provided by Apple iCloud and is governed by your Apple account settings and Apple's terms. If iCloud is unavailable, Shelfie stores your journal locally on the device.
Data collection
The developer does not collect, sell, rent, or share personal data through Shelfie. Shelfie contains no advertising SDKs or tracking technologies.
Data removal
You can delete individual coffees and brew logs inside Shelfie. Removing the app deletes its local data. Data synced to iCloud can also be managed through your iCloud settings.
Changes and questions
If this policy changes, the updated date above will change. Questions about privacy are welcome at simon@bromander.se.
